Internal struggle in UPN

Alberto Catalan and Yolanda Barcina
UPN (a right-wing and spanish unionist political party in Nafarroa) is in crisis. They are governing Nafarroa in minority since the pact with PSOE (spanish unionist and liberal political party) was broken. The corruption cases of PP splash UPN and the mismanagament of the public bank of Nafarroa (and its sale) have weakened it more.

One of the faces that has been targeted by all these scandals, is the president of Nafarroa Yolanda Barcina. Now, she has refused to give the internal control of her political party to the vicepresident of UPN Alberto Catalan (the past month they agreed a pact that now is broken). In the next months, there are going to be internal elections inside of UPN between the two sectors of the political party: Yolanda Barcina supporters and Alberto Catalan supporters. Yolanda Barcina is not going to accept an another power inside the party that is not her. Alberto Catalan supports a pact with PSOE to govern in Nafarroa.

Talking about his candidacy, Alberto Catalan have said that UPN works is "protect our land of the basque nationalist  obsession to annexing Nafarroa to that lie that they call "Euskal Herria" (basque country)". The government of Nafarroa is weakened and some political analysts predict early elections in Nafarroa.
