Basque students, "victory day" and "goazen plazara!"

"Ikasle Abertzaleak" sticker
Ikasle Abertzaleak (basque students union) have called tomorrow (thursday 10) new mobilizations against spanish cut in education. Spanish goverment is going to increase university taxes, teachers are going to work more hours (without hire new teachers), more students in the same class etc. They are also against a project in which english will be promoted and euskera (basque language) discriminated.  They also support the general strike called in education next May 31. Ikasle Abertzaleak is the main student organization in all Basque Country. They are pro-independence, feminist, ecologist and leftist. In last general strike Ikasle Abertzaleak showed that it is a well organizated movement. They support a project called "Euskal Eskola Nazionala" (basque national school) in which basque people will build a new education system.

"Goazen plazara!" (go to the square) have called a movilization next May 19. They ask basque people to occupy basque squares (in all cities and  villages). Pro-independence and leftist coalition (EA, Aralar, Alternatiba, Ezker Abertzalea and EH Bai) and Geroa Bai (basque left in Nafarroa) have supported this new action. Goazen plazara! claims for basque political prisoners freedom.

This is not France, this is basque country. Future independence
In french state yesterday was holiday (victory day). They celebrate french victory against "nazi" occupation forces. In Iparralde (north basque country) there have been youth demonstrations against this day. According to Ikasle Abertzaleak and Segi french state use this days to promote french identity in north basque country and other people opressed by french state (corsican or breton).
